Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly started negotiations with Lyon over the potential signing of Alexandre Lacazette, with The Mirror claiming that the London side want to beat West Ham to the striker’s signing.

The France international is a man in demand and is expected to leave the Ligue 1 side for a new challenge ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.

West Ham had a £31 million offer rejected for the homegrown hero earlier this summer and has since turned their attentions to other potential new faces.

However, Spurs are believed to be fellow suitors of Lacazette, with talk beginning over a £30 million deal according to the report.

Given that Lyon rejected West Ham’s approach it seems logical that all other teams interested in the French forward would need to pay more than the Hammers bid that was rejected.

PSG are also believed to be suitors of Lacazette, but West Ham’s chances of landing him seen to have slipped away.
