West Ham are currently 5 points from a Champions League place. However, we have a game in hand over Manchester City meaning it could be down to just two points.

Here is how West Ham could still do it:

First let’s look at the fixtures:

West Ham: Swansea (H) Manchester United (H) Stoke (A)

Manchester United: Norwich (A) West Ham (A) Bournemouth (H)

Manchester City: Arsenal (H) Swansea (A)

A game in hand for West Ham and United means that we can both be within 2 points of Manchester City if we both win. However, the game in hand is against each other. West Ham vs Manchester United is now looking like a massive game, if we can beat United then that would mean we are ahead of them.

Manchester City are playing against Real Madrid on Wednesday night in a must win game for them, they are going to be far more tired than Arsenal at the weekend. Arsenal are desperate to finish above Spurs so could get a result against City.

This would mean that 9 points against Swansea at home, United at home and Stoke away would seal fourth place, if Arsenal get a result. If City draw with Arsenal, they need a win against Swansea at The Liberty Stadium to secure fourth.

So what this means is:

If West Ham win all their matches, Manchester United become irrelevant. They would be below us.

City could slip up after the Champions League against Arsenal or against Swansea.

Going to Stoke on the last day would be huge, but their season has faded out, it could be a good time to play them at the Britannia. As seen below, their current form is DLLLD, so there are points available in that game.

A few weeks ago it looked done and dusted, but all we need is one City slip up, and it’s back in our own hands again.
