West Ham United have ended their interest in Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette and will make moves for other targets instead, according to Goal.

The Hammers are in the market for a big-name centre forward and made a £31 million offer for the highly rated France international, which Lyon subsequently rejected.

Talk in the press has debated whether Slaven Bilic’s men would up their offer for Lacazette, with a second bid potentially forcing the Ligue 1 side to rethink their approach.

However, the report states that West Ham feel that they have reached their capacity financially for the ace attacker and do not want to pay over the odds for him.

As such, moves for other centre forwards are expected, with a host of other enticing options being coined in the media as targets for the ambitious London club.

Lacazette would have been an exciting addition to Bilic’s squad, but paying more than £31 million for him would have been a massive burden on his shoulders.
