West Ham United have turned their attention to AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca and have placed a £16 million offer for the Colombian frontman, according to The Daily Mail.

The Hammers are in the market for a new number nine this summer that will spearhead their move to the Olympic Stadium, but have found attempts to sign Alexandre Lacazette, Michy Batshuayi and Callum Wilson unsuccessful.

Bacca is a proven marksman in European football, with an enviable scoring record at former club Sevilla in their profession domestically and in the Europa League.

The South American forward moved to Milan last summer and was a rare bright spark for an under-performing Rossoneri in Serie A.

The report suggests that Milan want to hold out for £20 million for Bacca, but that the Hammers have more of a chance of landing him than with other targets, with every chance the Colombian could be the marquee striker that the club have been looking for.
