West Ham United are set to challenge Swansea City to sign Wilfried Bony from Manchester City this summer, according to The Daily Star.

The Hammers are in the market for a new big-name centre forward to spearhead the club’s move to the Olympic Stadium and are expected to splash the cash this summer.

Bony was a sensation in South Wales before moving to the Etihad Stadium, but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by in Manchester largely due to the presence of Sergio Aguero.

With Pep Guardiola set to take over from Manuel Pellegrini this summer and more than likely ready to change up the City squad, the Ivory Coast international is one of those set to face an exit from the club.

The report suggests that City want to recoup £20 million of the £25m they shelled out on Bony, but that Swansea will start the bidding at £15m.
