Manchester City are lining up a summer move for West Ham United starlet Reece Oxford according to The Daily Mail, with the teenager said to have caught the eye of manager-in-waiting Pep Guardiola.
The Citizens’ squad is set to be shaken up in the summer upon the new coach’s arrival, with a lack of homegrown players at the Etihad Stadium currently.
The report suggests that Guardiola wants to add English players to his contingent and has one eye on 17-year-old Oxford.
The versatile starlet shot himself into the limelight with an impressive showing for the Hammers in a 2-0 win over Arsenal on the opening day of the campaign and has made 12 appearances for Slaven Bilic’s men in total.
Oxford, who can play as either a central defender or in midfield, is one of the most promising youngsters coming out of the fabled West Ham youth academy and is set to have a bright future in the game.
