West Ham’s hopes of signing Celta Vigo attacker Nolito have received a blow, with Mundo Deportivo claiming that AC Milan have entered the race for the versatile forward’s signature.

The Hammers are expected to bolster their attacking options in the off-season and were linked last week with an exciting offer for the Spain international.

Slaven Bilic’s men are believed to be ready to fight Arsenal for the 29-year-old’s signature, while former club Barcelona have also been heavily linked with Nolito.

However, the latest report suggests that Milan are readying a £14 million move for the explosive star and have made him one of their transfer priorities this summer.

The Italian side have had another abject campaign but are set to spend at the end of the season to hit the ground running in 2016-17.

Nolito signing for West Ham would be a real statement of intent by the Hammers but landing him now seems like a tricky proposition.
