Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Michy Batshuayi is a player that he is looking at, which could well make West Ham’s bid to land the striker more difficult this summer.

The Belgium international has been a sensation in France since moving to Marseille from Standard Liege, with a summer move to England looking likely.

The sprightly centre forward is expected to play a role for Belgium in this summer’s Euro 2016 campaign, with a host of Premier League sides linked with a move for him already.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has identified the need for a new centre forward before the Hammers move to the Olympic Stadium in the summer, with Batshuayi believed to be first choice in the Croatian’s preferences.

However, Pochettino has stated that Spurs will also be in the running to land the Marseille forward in the summer, which could throw a spanner in the works.

“We are looking for a striker this summer, that’s clear,” Pochettino told RMC.

“Michy’s a young player who has a lot of talent. He is on the list of many clubs.

“We have quite a few people who have given us information about him. He has good potential. We’ll see. We have other players in our sights too.”
