It’s been a rumour that simply hasn’t died down throughout the summer window and now it looks as if Emmanuel Adebayor could be closing in on a switch to West Ham.

The Togolese international was supposed to sign for the Hammers in January but Daniel Levy pulled the plug on the deal as he saw Sam Allardyce’s side as direct rivals in the race for Europe.

It now looks as if the Tottenham chairman has changed his mind and is even willing to pay some of Adebayor’s £100,000 a week wages as the striker closes in on a season-long loan switch to Upton Park.

The striker’s imminent arrival has not been welcomed by a number of fans and it is understandable why many feel that he is not the right man to come in and help the club. He has been accused of being lazy and disloyal despite his hefty wage packet and it looks as if the Spurs fans are desperate to get rid of him.

Although there may be some negativity surrounding the 31-year-old’s imminent arrival, it is important to highlight why the Hammers are moving for Adebayor.

So, here are FIVE reasons why Emmanuel Adebayor would be a good signing for West Ham.

West ham will go down this year if you buy this player . He is the lazy player I have seen. He will just won’t is 100 grand a week . God help our club this season

Disagree with the above post . When Tim Sherwood gave him a chance to play again he was scoring goals and up for the challenge . As West Ham won`t be paying all his wages its a win win situation. He wanted to move to West Ham before but Levy pulled the plug on the deal . So quite rightly he was happy to draw his wages as he was not being picked by the current Spurs manager . I think he will relish proving the doubters wrong and he has played for some top premier league clubs .

I hope your right and I Am wrong but we should have got some good strikers like Charlie Austin, Bony it seems that no one wants to sign for us now .just old players that have had there day

  • Peter says:

Austin is valued at £15m plus wages. I’m sure the 2 Davids would prefer Austin but sadly WHU has to be run like a business.
I think Adebayor will be a good addition to the squad and relatively cheap.
