West Ham are expected to complete the signings of Victor Moses, Nikica Jelavic and Alex Song whilst a bid for Michail Antonio has reportedly been accepted by Nottingham Forest.

Moses will join the Hammers on a season-long loan as Slaven Bilic looks to add more threat out wide to his squad. The 24-year-old impressed for Stoke City on loan last season and if he remains fit, the Irons will have secured a very talented Premier League performer. It also looks as if the Hammers will beat Spurs to the winger’s signature despite them making a last-minute bid to hijack West Ham’s move.

As well as Moses, Jelavic is expected to complete a medical today ahead of a £3 million move to Upton Park. The 30-year-old has scored 13 goals in 50 appearances for Hull City and has worked under Bilic before for the Croatian national team. The Hammers were linked with a move for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez but his ludicrous wage demands scuppered a potential move to the Boleyn Ground.

Now, it looks as if Jelavic could be the striker West Ham turn to in order to provide more firepower up front. He has only scored 19 goals in 88 Premier League appearances which is not exactly prolific but he will be a valuable squad option for the Hammers.

According to Diaro Sport, Alex Song has passed a medical at West Ham and will join on a season-long loan ahead of deadline day. The midfielder’s move was initially in doubt due to a recent injury but it now looks as if the Hammers have secured the Cameroonian’s signature. Barcelona were willing to let Song leave on a free transfer but it is understood that the Hammers are more keen on a loan deal as they are concerned about Song’s fitness. Nevertheless, this is another excellent signing for the Hammers as Song will add both competition and quality to Bilic’s squad.

As well as all of these potential signings, it now looks as if the Hammers are looking to add yet another player to the squad in the form of Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio. The Hammers have bid around £7 million for the winger according to the Nottingham Post. The deal does not involve Matt Jarvis which is also another positive for the club as the former Wolves man will still be a reasonable option from the bench. Antonio is a very physical winger that can score goals and is a threat in the air. His extraordinary pace and physicality means that he should take to the Premier League relatively easily. It is a lot of money to spend for a Championship player but the winger did score 15 goals last season and has already scored 4 goals so far in this campaign.

Is this good business for West Ham? Is Jelavic a good enough option up front? Comment below

Good business but not so sure on jelavic…. Sure we could have found better than him. 3 out of 4 isn’t bad tho

  • havanthammer says:

Jelavic is better than Maiga and Cole and will score prem goals

I think he will score a lot more goals than most think, he will have Payet feeding him opportunities !!
    I think 4 good signings !!

Jelavic is a championship striker-only just.If we sign him, this will be slavs mistake.Save the money and get boomerang cole back. Not an ideal solution but better than Jelly.

All the talk of Jelcavic when you have Antonio!!! Do you realise how good a player he is when he is on it. He will take premier league by storm. Hope forest have put a percentage clause in for when man city buy him.

Agree with you on that one.its antonios chance to step up to prem level and I believe he would hold a first team place with the hammers no problem at all.jelavic just doesn’t do it for me even when he was at Everton.

Song on loan is good option his form tailed off alarmingly after Xmas, maybe due to injury niggles but my Arsenal mates don’t think that he was that good as he loses concentration at times. Jelcavic could be Ok at least Billic does know what he’s getting, we just don’t have much luck attracting a big name striker though. Moses and Antonio both fine.

Should’ve taken Defoe instead of jelevic, ok he made a mistake but who ain’t ? He was young and easily lead.
At least we know he’ll score goals in the prem

Jelavic is a direct replacement for Maiga and on that basis is a definite upgrade !!

He will be behind Carroll, Valencia, and Zarate in the pecking order and will be useful cover.

    • thumpersnooks says:

      also behind Sakho !!

    • Big Ron says:

Love your comment of Jelavic behind Carroll ! Is that the one who has played in total 27 games at 2.2mill pound a game twisted ankle putting trainers on !! Jelavic great buy !!!

  • Thumpersnooks says:

Thats if we get any of them of course ??? There is a late bid for the Forest lad from Leicester and I just read we may be gazumped on the Moses deal !!

  • Crabby Clause says:

In Jelavic you are getting a steal! He had Shane Long as a partner when he first came to the Tigers and between them caused real trouble for opposing defences and kept us up in our first year in the Prem. Tigers then sold Long to Southampton and the rest is history. Has not had the best of supply lines from our midfield and at the Hammers I do not think this will be a problem. I expect Jelavic to make the first team his own despite the competition for a shirt. Very sorry to see him go but a Prem player wasted in Championship. Following him in WHU colours will now be another reason for watching match of the day!

Hopefully the Antonio deal comes off very good player along with Moses.what west don’t need is all these mercenaries out there to make one final quick buck ie.adeybayor,Hernandez and jelavic who I think is so overated.alex song is not the answer either he hasn’t exactly pushed for the move either seen him against Bristol in the fa cup last season in a poor match he literally walked around the pitch craaaaap.
