According to the London Evening Standard, West Ham have joined the race to sign Queens Park Rangers front man Charlie Austin.

The report states that the striker is keen on a move to West Ham and would be willing to join them ahead of other rivals.

There is still an issue regarding the transfer fee as QPR still value the player at £15 million. No club has made an offer in that region so far this summer so they may be forced to lower their valuation if they want to cash in on the 26-year-old.

QPR need to get rid of some of their highest earners at the club and Charlie Austin is looking to return to the top flight after he scored 18 league goals last season.

The striker himself admitted that he would be willing to leave QPR for the Premier League. He told Sky Sports:

“I’m focussed on the job in hand. Every player wants to play in the Premier League and I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to be there, but I’ve got to work hard while I’m at QPR and try my best.”

It’s no secret that West Ham are looking to add another striker to their ranks and Charlie Austin is a name that has been on the top of many Hammers fans’ wish lists.

Could Slaven Bilic’s side finally make a move?
