Alex SongI currently feel like the Year Seven school kid being bullied by the Year Elevens; I’m excited for my first day at secondary school, I’ve brought in my own brand new football that I got for my birthday but, after just two minutes, the bigger boys have nicked it.

I’m of course referring to today’s rumours that Barcelona’s on-loan midfielder Alex Song is being linked with a move to either Manchester United or Liverpool in the January transfer window.

Song, who Brendan Rodgers tried to sign in the summer before the Cameroonian opted for Upton Park, has been an instant hit since his arrival from the Nou Camp and talk has already begun that Sam Allardyce is working on making the deal a permanent one.

The Hammers faithful will be hoping that their love for the player, the fact he has been captain in Kevin Nolan and Mark Noble’s absence and also the realisation that he can be part of something special at West Ham will be enough to keep Song in east London.
