MF - Matt TaylorMatthew Taylor has been signed up on a free transfer by Premier League newcomers Burnley.

Taylor made 20 appearances in the Premier League for West Ham last season, and although I don’t think The Hammers will particularly miss him, I’m happy that Matty will get another season in England’s top division.

I’ve not been retracted in expressing my love for Matty Taylor. Certainly more so over last season, when many were on his back.

I’m almost certain that I’m in the minority with my optimistic view of Taylor, but during last season nothing was going to plan. There was one man who would certainly give his all when called upon, and that’s why Big Sam gave the 32-year-old such a consistent run in the team in the latter stages of the campaign.

It’s that passion and willingness to work as a team player that won my respect. It’s what’s needed in a relegation battle, and whether or not things would have been different without Taylor – we survived.

I will happily applaud Matt Taylor when he returns to Upton Park on the 2nd of May. An undervalued servant whose passion we can only hope won’t be missed.

Would’t it be a cert that he’ll be the one who scores the winner.

Yeah, I think you are about right about Taylor.

Not exactly gifted with limitless talent and skill but a wholehearted, 1% committed honest pro who would always give everything go the cause

Unfortunately despite his spirit and desire it was his lack of that 1% of class that found him out at the top level.

And there lies the conundrum! When we struggle, especially last season he was brilliant for us! Just what we needed for the fight.
But if we are to move on go that next level then all that perspiration must be allied with a bit more inspiration! IMO matty is not the man who can do that.

I echo your thought in wishing him well and just hope we don’t need his battling qualities again any time soon! COY!

Couldnt agree more. he was a loyal an hardworking player. a team player who may not have been the best individually skilled but was able to link up and defend as a team

i would say that matt taylor is just an average player but very reliable, . but as we are going to change our way of play, its in his interest to move to another club

Taylor : good pro/squad player. Reliable but past sell by date. Not enough goals. Will do well for Burnley but we need to move on with younger players. Wish him all the best.

Couldn’t agree more more with the previous comments…..

Matt Taylor, a consistent 6/10 player. Never going to set the world alight, but you pretty much know what you are going to get in every game.

    Good luck at Burnley Matt.

matt made the difference for us in the latter part of the season. if it wasn’t for him things may have turned out a lot differently. he gave his all and was our best player during our winning streak. I didn’t rate him much but his efforts set an example of what is required when things get tough. well done matt, all the best mate.
