Ravel MorrisonWith only one season left on Ravel Morrison’s contract at West Ham, and the youngster having recently become entangled in a war of words between co-chairman David Sullivan and manager Sam Allardyce about his role at the club, it may well be the case that the Hammers decide to sell him in this transfer window, and make sure they at least get some profit on the former Manchester United player. Here are five possible transfer destinations for Morrison should the club decide to go down this route:

Swansea City

There have been strong suggestions already this transfer window that the Swans are keen on signing Morrison, probably in the belief that he will fit into their stylish passing game. This may also be an incentive for the out of favour youngster to move to the Welsh side. Whether they would be willing to stump up enough for West Ham’s probable asking price is another matter.

Queens Park Rangers

Morrison spent much of the second half of last season on loan to the West London side, and he impressed at times during their promotion push from the Championship. The 21-year-old scored six goals in 14 league appearances.

Having already established a relationship with R’s boss Harry Redknapp, who has since expressed his admiration for Morrison, a move could be mutually beneficial for both club and player. A possible stumbling block may be that the Hammers would be unwilling to sell to a club like QPR, with whom they could be direct competition with.

Manchester City

There were rumours that Manchester City were prepared to take on Morrison from West Ham in the last January’s transfer window, and further such reports have circulated this summer.

Now such a deal may not be as farcical as it sounds. Whilst Morrison has done nothing yet in his career to justify a move to a team as good as Man City, the blues would dearly love to be able to develop the obvious talents of the midfielder and turn him into a top player at their club; more than anything because it would be a slap in the face for their Manchester rivals, United, whose academy Morrison came through. Morrison would certainly be happy with this, too, with the opportunity to showcase his ability at the highest level likely to be too difficult to resist for the headstrong youngster.

Chelsea

This would probably be the most unlikely destination of the lot for Ravel Morrison. Earlier in the summer, Morrison posted a picture of himself on social media apparently wearing a Chelsea shirt. This sent West Ham fans on Twitter into overdrive, and he was heavily criticised.

Whether this would mean a move to the West London side is on the cards is another matter, however, and Chelsea certainly aren’t short of top class midfield players. Nevertheless, Jose Mourinho is known for taking unusual decisions at times, and he may well see Morrison as a project he can get his teeth into.

Arsenal

Last season, Morrison revealed that he was an Arsenal supporter, and would therefore presumably love a move to the Emirates stadium, should the opportunity arise. There have been a few tentative reports of interest from Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has a track record for buying talented youngsters and developing them into first team regulars.

With Morrison into the last year of his contract at Upton Park, also, Arsenal may be tempted by the relative cheapness of the likely asking price, and seize upon a bargain, which is another trait they have been known for in recent years.

if he dont get messed around he could do a lot of damage for west ham. I personally hope he stays and fullfills the potential we all know hes got . I cant understand why Sam is so against playing him it really is a no brainer but then so is our manager if he cant see that Morrison is one for the present and future .

Morrison is in direct opposition to Nolan, Sams’ pet, so it makes sense in a way, maybe with what we’ve got Sam and Kevin can go, along with Andy in January.
