Mohamed DiameIt looks like West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame shares a room with Alou Diarra.

Diame has been quoted in a French newspaper saying the following:

“Two years ago [before joining West Ham] I wanted to join a team with ambitions.”

“Overall, my season has been okay, although I think it is not up to last season. I started badly, but gradually I got my bearings.”

“Liverpool? I can’t tell you if I will be a Liverpool player next season. But I think my name is still on their wanted list.”

“I don’t hide it, I’m ambitious and I want to join a top 6 side. I am 26 years old and it’s time to take that step.”

What are your thoughts on this? Time to sell?

    Ta da.
Hate players who think there too big for the club. It’s obvious he has never wanted to play for us. Only pulls his socks up against the top 6 sides. He has been rubbish all season and has only played well the last few games. Suppose it’s to get a bit of interest now the seasons coming to a close. Don’t think he is good enough for a top six club. Wouldn’t surprise me if Liverpool go in for him. Hope he has fun sitting on there bench.

Time to invest in a top 6 squad.

  • peter iron says:

Goes missing in games too often for me i’m afraid .If he put the effort in that Noble and Taylor do he would be a good player , but he doesn’t .Too lazy for a top six team and too lazy for us i reckon. Get rid of .

  • HertsHammer says:

Another Nigel Reo-Coker! Thinks he’s too big for our club. Whatever happened to Reo-Coker….

  • essexIRON says:

you could add Mathew Upson & Rob Green to that list.. Both happy in the championship. Upson..’I want to pay for a top four team’ some one forgot to tell him it would be in the fizzy pop league. Great career move lads, anyone else like to follow that route???

  • Mark Russell says:

Let him go and be a bench warmer if he wants.hes a good strong player but his decision making and shooting leaves a lot to be desired cash in i say.

  • paul says:

Let him leave don’t want players at our club that don’t wanna be there he isn’t that great anyway, give someone else a chance and see if they can play better than him failing that stick him in the reserves and make he stay there

  • blimey says:

Don’t read too much into the words of the press, always looking for a story, even if there isn’t one….

That said, Diame has not been half the player he was last year, up at Sunderland he looked terrible!?! So perhaps his heart isn’t in the Claret & Blue any more and time to let him move on to warm the bench at Anfield, or whichever ‘top 6’ he’s talking about…..

  • beckton Geoff says:

I’ve never trusted the French anyway, top 6 he’s on something ?, he’s bang his head ?, someone help him please, i here Canvey island put in a bid for him too, LOL.

  • Neil says:

The guys a showboating ponce who does it only when he can be bothered
Go kiss somebody else’s badge you pratt

When will these bloody idiots understand that a football is about its fans and not the overpaid idiots plodding around the park

    cheerio

  • RVT 12 says:

Our fan base is full of idiots. Diame is played out of position every single game so naturally he doesn’t play as well as last year because he doesn’t really know what he is doing on the wing because he isn’t and NEVER HAS BEEN a winger!!
For those getting on his back, he is right, WE HAVE NO AMBITION!! Get over yourselves, all armchair fans I bet as well.

    • chris says:

Couldn’t agree more! He is a centre/def midfielder, he always subs him no matter how well he’s playing. As for ambition, we are looking at two freebees from Sunderland who are doomed from the prem.

  • sibbo says:

sams always playing players in their wrong positions why sam still there cant make out get no decent players while hes there

  • Chris says:

I can’t fault or say a bad word about anyone with ambition. Trust me I’m related to someone with so little ambition they havn’t bothered to look for job since their last one in 1984 and as a consequence all us fine people who work have to support his lazy f*king ass or buy his dope. I digress, sory peeps but he does wind me the f*ck up!

Diame sadly, like a lot of our team have suffered with the “Fit in around Nolan” syndrome. He hasn’t looked great this season but really Noble aside who has? And I fully understand a footballer’s ambition, I didn’t like it when Rio, Carrick, Lampard etc all left but who blame them? I felt for Gerrard yesterday because it must be amazing to be that close to something major and playing for your supported team, we all know what it would mean to Noble to win something with us. I don’t actually ever see us winning anything under the current manager, I won’t say regime at this point as it seems that certain board members understand why we were booing against Hull and that we expect more entertainment from our beloved boys. I was raised on Cross, Devonshire, Brooking, days when we had good players, a manager who was tactically astute and AMBITION. Thats the problem now, our ambition stretches to 30% possession, at home, against 10 men. Well, that simply is not good enough and never will be. Unfortunately our club seems t have taken a nosedive, not only on the pitch but also off it with 13 year olds shouting our transfer business from the rooftops, while the players who were probably spun a line to sign for the club sit disillusioned. I have now seen reports that we’re looking at another left back? Must be great for Armero who has sat there since he signed and had a good debut I thought. Things are not good at UP at the moment and there seems unrest from all quarters, however you know you’ve really got trouble once the players start voicing their unrest. I won’t go to another game while BFS is in charge, I’d rather watch a sunday park game as usually theres a bit more pride on show than some of our players give.

  • Matt Oliver says:

I do agree with the lack of ambition that we do have. But diame has to bensubbed off when he starts because of his heart condition and I think the reason that he will struggle to get into a top 6 club is because of this. Also he will struggle to pass a medical at most clubs up the top

  • teddybard says:

    A. it’s a French Newspaper report.
    B. He’s OK but we could do better
    C.Another Ince?

  • SJ says:

So what he has ambitions of being in a top 6 side. I’d be more worried if players didn’t have that ambition. For me this report has agent written all over it getting the “interest” in Diame built up before the summer.
