Hammers looking to bring Premier League duo to Upton Park

Micah RichardsIt sounds like West Ham’s summer transfer plans are in full swing with the Times’ Gary Jacob writing: “West Ham United hope to take advantage of Sunderland’s likely relegation with a move for Lee Cattermole… West Ham also hope to persuade Micah Richards, the Manchester City defender who has one year left on his contract to move to London.”

The rumours regarding Manchester City’s Micah Richards have been around for a few months and, although he would be an improvement on Guy Demel*, I question whether he’d actually join us?

Sunderland’s Lee Cattermole has more legs – the rumour does, not the player – and is someone that Sam Allardyce has wanted for a while. The Black Cats midfielder is a better footballer than he is given credit for but that doesn’t stop him being a bit, erm, physical in the middle of the park – Cattermole has scored one Premier League goal for every 66.8 fouls he has conceded.

What are your thoughts on these rumours?

*Despite that, I just want to confirm that I bloody love Demel

Lee Cattamole, no is a liability, hothead who is off the pace and uses foul play to make up for this. We already have Kevin Nolan so Cattamole as well means that for half the season we will only have ten players left on the pitch during games. Micah Richards is quality but can he prove his long term fitness?

Yeah great… two more to spend most of the season either suspended or injured

Typical BFS type players, i.e muscle but no invention. Until BFS goes money will be wasted on below average players. Not many inventive footballers will play for BFS.

  • mark says:

    No to either
not players to take us forward

I like Richards a lot but would he join us,i think not,as for cattamole,he is rubbish,if we signed cattamole,i would stop supportimg my beloved ammers, because its these sort of signings that our fans hate, and makes our club a laughing stock and I,ve had enough of it,buy quality or not at all.We need players that will make our team progress forward not back in the dark ages.

  • Sussex hammer says:

No to both,we need another striker mainly

It’s obviously very early days, the rumour mill is well under way and we don’t even know for sure that we’ll be in the Premier league next season. However, please let’s kill off any possible chance of bringing Cattermole to Upton Park. As stated above, he would be a typical Allardyce signing and, I hate to say it, a genuine reason to spend my hard earned cash elsewhere next season( at a racecourse or a house of ill repute, not another club I hasten to add).

Let’s get rid of the root of the problem, send Allardyce on his way and make an offer to Glenn Hoddle to take over, at least we would see some decent football and not hear all those garbage excuses after every embarrassing defeat. 3 years of this mug is long enough, we’ve all done our time now.

Carttermole – your having a larf , if we gonna but another donkey I give up

Richards could be a good shout, keep Armero I think he has a lot more to show us. Bring back Ravel as our playmaker and get ross McCormack up front and take that massive pressure off of Carroll. All of this is against the ‘Allarshyte’ way, so do the maths…

Also there are lots of calls for Nolan to go, which I agree he is a donkey, but if he goes we need a good replacement to motivate the team. Also lazy boy Diame got go and warm up liverpools bench, he don’t wanna play for us, he’s only recently started putting effort in to put himself in the shop window.

  • danielson says:

In fact this could be a good shout for us, not sure if he would take us on though…
