Jese RodriguezLoan signings are always a good idea. If they fail, they have an end in sight. If they succeed you get your moneys worth, and in rare occasions, a future fee might be set and that gives the option for the club to make the loan deal permanent.

This January is more than likely going to be a busy period for West Ham. There have already been some rumours of possible loan signings; some of which are below.

Firstly, West Ham have reportedly joined the race for Clint Dempsey who has been out in the MLS with Seattle Sounders. The club, which sold Clint to the MLS outfit, Tottenham Hotspur, have first refusal of his signature, but will be more than likely to do exactly that. This leaves the door wide open for West Ham to snatch a player with Premier League experience and goals. He scored 60 goals for Fulham with 23 goals coming in his last season with the Cottagers. He then signed for Tottenham and failed to show that same form, but will less consistency in the amount of games he got. He has however, shown with these two clubs that he is a London boy. So again, leaving us with a good chance.

West Ham are also looking into the possibility of signing 20 year old Real Madrid forward, Jesé Rodriguez. Rodriguez has been with Los Blancos since 2007, making 80 appearances for the ‘B’ team scoring 32 goals. He was called up to the first team by Jose Mourinho, and has since made six first team appearances, scoring once. He has also played, and scored, in every level from U-16 to U-21′s of Spanish national youth football. He is known for his skill, pace and use of both feet. He is also versatile, and can play out wide or centre-forward. This year, Real Madrid coach and football legend, Zinedine Zidane declared himself an admirer of Jesé’s direct football style, skill and goalscoring ability. High praise indeed from a man who knows class. He is available for loan and I’m sure both himself and his club would like to see how he would cope in the Premier League.

Also amongst the rumour mill, is England international and Manchester United winger Ashley Young. David Moyes is reportedly looking to loan out Young to “revive his career”. He has been largely disappointing since joining the Premier League champions. Newcastle United are also interested in signing the man who is known to struggle to stay on his feet. From his diving antics, his manager has seemed to have lost patience after hitting out at his diving, and feels that Young could benefit from a spell away from Manchester United. With Matthew Jarvis and Stewart Downing at the club and both being large signings by Sam Allardyce, it would be another “question mark” signing. I would expect Newcastle to be more of move that Ashley Young would be looking for, as he has a history of playing ‘up north’.

For now, goal scorers are definitely the priority. If we could secure the loan signing of Jesé Rodriguez, then that would be a smart move from Big Sam. The Premier League goalscoring record of Clint Dempsey would also suggest that a move for the American, could be just the move we are looking for.

Get Young in-he can dive to get us a few penalties that Noble can score from.

Drastic changes are needed. Don’t wait till January. The team needs to bring in around 4 players on loan now!
Sam’s 4-6-0 formation is not working. Games cannot be won if the 1st & only strike on target does not occur until just before the final whistle.
