West Ham’s Best Bit Of Business In The Transfer Window

|

Mo DiameThe transfer window is now over and although I enjoy the excitement of when West Ham sign a new player, Im more than happy to see the back of the January transfer window due to the constant speculation that surrounded Mohamed Diame.

Sam Allardyce says that it was just his agent trying to get a deal but even so, as an admirer of the way that Diame plays, I am pleased that the speculation that has surrounded him has gone for a couple of months and he can just concentrate on football.

In my opinion keeping Diame rivals pretty much every one of our signings as the best bit of business West Ham carried out in the January transfer window. This is because I feel that no matter who we would have brought in to get him for the £3.5 million that we would have got for him we would not have been able to sign a player who is as good as him in his style of play.

He has a big presence in the defensive midfield position and with Mark Noble not being the tallest and Alou Diarra going out on loan and looking like he may as well be sold (as we shouldn’t keep hold of a want away in my opinion) we wouldn’t have anybody within our ranks who would have the presence and power in that position, which could have left us slightly week in the midfield.

Looking for experience? Just want to be heard outside of the Boleyn? We are currently looking for writers, drop us an email at foreverwestham@snack-media.com for more details

If he had left the club late on and we hadn’t been able to sign a replacement in time we would have had to play somebody like James Tomkins, Gary O’Neil or Jack Collison in his position and without any disrespect to them I don’t think that they could do the job that Diame has done in recent times.

The fact that we have managed to keep Diame with ‘big’ teams such as Arsenal interested and teams like QPR throwing money at him, I think it will benefit us on and off the field greatly. He will continue to help us on the pitch, and I also think that off the pitch this will help with the confidence of the other West Ham players and prove to any potential future signings and the signings that we have already made that we are a club who intends to move forward rather than a club who lets their players go easily.

Forever West Ham is now on Google+, so be sure to find us on there by quite simply (and rather unsurprisingly) searching ‘Forever West Ham’

Completely agree! what a strength he is in the team, just wish he had been able to take on of the chances he had yesterday!

I did think when I saw the thread it was going to be just another Andy Carroll tribute! yes he did play much better yesterday, was so pleased to see him score, but…… this is his third goal in his last twenty right matches! there is a long way to go until the end of the season, lets see what he delivers before we Crown Him king of Upton Park and if he does come good No Way should he be offered the silly salary he is currently receiving that is and would be a insult to many of our good players on much less.

Yes I glad Diame stayed but every goes on like the board fended off bids no one actually came in for him so the club didn’t have to do any thing about keeping him! So lets please stop saying how well we did to keep him cos no one actually bidded for him so that ours all that to bed, also he’s the same as diarra yes it would n a shame to loose him but cast your mind back he wasn’t exactly a consistent regular for Wigan and he’s only really had a good 4 months as was injured for 8 weeks.

I’m not saying he’s been a quality player for us but lets just wait and see in the summer if he really wants to stay or not cos hell sign a new contract if he really wants to go then See ya later don’t want him here and well go again no one is bigger then the club and fed up with seeing people playing who really don’t wanna play or you
