Saturday Night under the lights at the Boleyn will see a real heavy-weight clash between two of the best of their types in the English game…but enough about West Ham v Man City; I want to focus on Mohamed Diame v Yaya Toure.

Mo and Yaya will contest the midfield duel that will be key to the way in which the match swings on Saturday and from our point of view if we’re to get something out of a game against Sheik Masour’s superstars; it’s a battle we need our man to win.
Yaya Toure in my humble opinion is the best box to box midfielder in the business and has raised the bar from the man who previously defined that position in Patrick Vieira. Our very own Mo Diame is already showing glimpses that he is the man who would be king; the young pretender to Yaya’s crown. It was a major coup that we managed to land a player of such potential and ability and it’ll be truly fascinating to see how he gets on against the colossus that is Toure.

Is it a battle he can win? Well much like if we are to succeed in getting one over on the champions we’ll need to have a very good night and require them to have an off one. Of course Diame cannot conquer a City on his own; and if we are to triumph on Saturday night we’ll require near perfect performances from just about every man in a claret and blue shirt.
However the battle between the grand-master in Toure and the youthful upstart in Diame will be central to the evening’s victors.
