A poem for Tevez

|

I’ve done/tried something a wee bit different this time round. With our favourite little Argentinian coming back to the East End, I’ve attempted poetry! I can only apologise!

You’re the Argentine Enigma,

Who signed on deadline day,

The crowd loved your boundless passion,

And the skills with which you’d play.

The impact you made was massive,

Though for only one short year,

Scoring the goals to keep us up,

And freezing defences with fear.

But it wasn’t about just passion,

You wowed us all with tricks,

You had our worship, a hero born,

Like Paolo, Moore and Dicks.

You left after one season,

But came back to Upton Park,

The sight of you applauding us,

Shows we’re still in your heart.

So we’ll see you back this weekend,

And whether won or drawn or lost,

You’ll salute us fans that love you,

With arms like Hammers crossed.
