5. Twist and Shout – I had my first league away game recently, and we soon filled out the Yates in Southampton. This is an away day anthem and always brings a smile to everyone’s faces. All together now: ‘do do do do do…’
4. Couldn’t lift Frank Lampard – Anyone who has heard this one about our chubby nemesis knows it’s hilarity. Again, I haven’t heard this at many matches – it’s more frequently heard at the pub before the match. But it is a quality song and gives all fans the giggles. Here’s how it goes – ‘Ten men couldn’t lift, couldn’t lift frank lampard,
10 men, 9 men, 8 men, 7 men, 6 men, 5 men, 4 men, 3 men, 2 men, 1 man and his fork-lift truck couldn’t lift Frank Lampard.’
3. The Demba Ba songs – Either the one that goes along to Kumbaya or the one that’s like it would be more at home in your local nightclub, both Ba songs were brilliant and he and his songs will be missed at Upton Park.
2. Christian Dailly’s songs – Another West Ham cult hero, with his mop of curly hair and bizarre goal scoring technique, Dailly has a couple of good songs about him. The most classic is ‘Christian Dailly football genius, he scores goals with his penis,’ which for obvious reasons is a firm favourite. And don’t you all miss his rabbit in the headlights look whenever anyone passed to him?!
1. I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles – Obviously! I love getting to Upton Park and hearing this before kick off. It gives me shivers and when Mr. Nicholas cuts the music and it’s just left to the fans to sing the rest, it sounds bloody amazing. Plus, it describes our club SO WELL. In fact, maybe that’s why we do the things we do – the song wouldn’t fit if we were great all the time!
