RUMOUR MILL: Hammers enter race for Manchester United target

|

I do love the January transfer window. The rumours concerning us this January have so far been exciting yet unsuccessful. Apart from a loan deal with George John we are yet to sign anyone even though Big Sam said our business would be done in the early stage of the month. Although we can hardly criticise Allardyce’s effort. We have been linked with many players from right backs to strikers, and the latest defender set to be on West Ham’s shopping list is highly rated Crystal Palace prospect Nathaniel Clyne.

Now I, going to work with what feels like half the population of Palace fans, happen to know a lot about this right back. What makes my analysis better is the fact I have reluctantly been to Selhurst Park a couple of times in the past two seasons.

The first positive sign with this player is the calibre of team looking at him. In the summer it was the likes of Wolves and even Ajax. Now it is teams like Fulham and Premier League champions Manchester United. Well I for one am not surprised. Clyne at the tender age of 20 is incredibly talented in both his natural position of defence, and attack. Last season he did not miss one game of Crystal Palace’s unsuccessful campaign and, was one of their most important players.

If this rumour is true then I can see a serious advance in Big Sam’s transfer targets and our previous unsuccessful transfer for Spurs right back Corluka may be a blessing in disguise if there is any depth in this speculation.
